1. Reverse Engineering char_*.dat - in EVE Technology Lab [original thread]
Bah - it's a little annoying because CCP are really keen on customer generated content; I'm sure they'd love an out of game overview settings tool! However, at the same time I understand why they can't accept people reverse engineering their tech....

2. Reverse Engineering char_*.dat - in EVE Technology Lab [original thread]
Originally by: Ix Forres AFAIK would violate EULA. You're probably right, but if it was achievable technically it may convince CCP to give us an API for it.

3. Reverse Engineering char_*.dat - in EVE Technology Lab [original thread]
Has anyone had a go at trying to reverse engineer the char_*.dat files? It would be nice to have a user friendly out of game tool for setting up (and copying) overview settings.

4. Fleet fight test feedback thread - in Test Server Feedback [original thread]
Fir 16:00 CPU 2.1GHz Intel core2 GPU GeForce 7600 RAM 4GB FPS ~10 Was nice and smooth, toggled brackets on and off a couple of times (switching them off still left some brackets there though - depending on overview settings)

6. [ISSUE] Forum reworking - in Assembly Hall [original thread]
Techlab is invaluable. If closed I can well see the only possible compromise being a sticky thread on the GameDev forum with the title "For information about the Eve API and Player Generated Tools" and then simply have a link to an externally hos...

Edited by: Stevil Knevil on 01/09/2008 19:57:11 I just used the F1 help in dev studio express and also good on System.Reflection. This might get you started: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/C__Reflection_Tutorial.aspx

8. [ISSUE] Forum reworking - in Assembly Hall [original thread]
Another gratuitous bump for keeping the tech lab. It serves a very different purpose to what the Game Dev forum is for. (For more details see http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=846273&page=1#5)

10. Data Export Tool - in EVE Technology Lab [original thread]
Originally by: Fudspari Hjikla You might even take it one step further if you want to use reflection. Why not define (using System.Reflection.Emit) a class at runtime, fill it with data from the database, and pass that to the xml serialize...

Edited by: Stevil Knevil on 17/08/2008 13:14:35 Just a very quick one: Every Dev Blog should have a link to a forum topic at the bottom for feedback. Most Dev Blogs already spaen a number of response threads, but it would be nice if the Dev ...

Edited by: Stevil Knevil on 17/08/2008 13:01:33 This, in my mind, is a tragedy. There is a big distinction between discussions about the internal workings of Eve Game mechanics and the technology surrounding it (user created content, EVE Api ...

14. What causes node lag anyway? - in EVE Technology Lab [original thread]
